President Donald Trump promised to “stop cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values” in the first address by a sitting president before the Value Voters Summit Friday.
Trump made several references to Christian scripture in his address to the crowd as he extolled the virtues of Americans’ prayerful and courageous response to the Mandalay Bay Massacre, pledged to stop attacks on Judeo-Christian values, and promised an end to the “war on Christmas.” Trump saidthe current administration and its supporters are “returning moral clarity to our view of the world and the many grave challenges we face.” The president also said his administration was delivering on its promise to defend “our nation’s religious heritage.”
“We know that it’s the family and the church, not government officials, that know best how to create strong and loving communities — and above all else we know this: In America, we don’t worship government, we worship God,” Trump said.
Trump also praised the courage of the American citizens who protected one another during the Oct.1 mass shooting in Las Vegas. He extolled the compassion and unity they demonstrated in their sacrifice for one another, and the bravery of the law enforcement officers who responded to the crisis.
