Three days later, the #SchumerShutdown is over. The Senate voted Monday to reopen the government, after it quickly became apparent that shutting down the government to demand amnesty for illegal immigrants may not have been so smart.
At the end, Democrats caved. They demanded amnesty, but all they got was a promise from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to have a vote on a DACA bill — which was going to happen anyway, sometime before the March deadline to provide legal protections for illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.
Progressive activist organizations are blasting the Democratic Party, accusing Senate Democrats of caving to the Republicans without scoring any progressive victories.

The Democrats cave so much you need a rope, a pickax, and a torch just to see the party platform now.

Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes. Make our day, Democrats. Campaign on identity politics. Knock off red-state Democratic incumbents like Claire McCaskill, Joe Manchin, or Heidi Heitkamp. Nominate extremists — and then LOSE!
