Nikki Haley Slams “Straight Face” Russian Ambassador Over Shocking Claim

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley slammed Russia Friday for complicity in the recent chemical weapons attack on civilians in Syria. Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting, Haley said Russia was responsible for blocking the UN from taking action to stop the use of chemical weapons. She also departed from her prepared remarks to tell off Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia.

Nebenzia said that the chemical weapons attack Saturday on Douma, had been faked by foreign intelligence services. “We have weighty justification to believe … that what took place was a provocation of certain countries intelligence services,” he claimed.

Haley spoke immediately following Nebenzia and criticized his claim before delivering her remarks.

“I started to listen to my Russian friend and respond but instead I’m in awe, Vassily, of how you say what you say with a straight face,” she said, “I really, really am.”

  1. I think Russia has a right to their opinion and to express it, just like the U.S. has a right to theirs. I don’t think the U.S. has a right to express their opinion without proof or evidence to back it up when they responded with missiles instead. Why was the hit with missiles done in a fashion so rapidly without more than accusations and without proof in the pudding? There are just too many coincidences and accusations going on in the middle east without justifications. This is an act of causes to start a major conflict and the only result will be that the ones to suffer due to it will be less than the leaders and destruction. I think it is time to stop and sit and ponder what everyone is doing, and discuss the real problems of the world, like the human right to have clean water and how to get it, adequate food and sustenance available for all and how to grow it and maintain it, education for all and how to give it, Get it-grow it-give it. I’m sure if we look at these words we can have the people at the sit-in with authority to solve it.
